Rise in Bullying of Eastern European Children in the UK

There is an alarming increase in bullying in the UK of our children. Here is a link to a recent Guardian article. Although many of the laws that allowed discrimination are falling, the attitudes that created them remain. 77% of children in a survey say they endure this behavior. I wonder how commonplace xenophobia against Eastern Europeans is in the United States. Please share any articles or studies on this subject.
