The ancestral lands of the Old Kingdom still lie in Eastern Europe. Since the Great Moldavian Diaspora began in 1862, the peoples of the Old Kingdom have settled across the globe. The Royal House of Schuylkill traces its predecessors' arrival in the New World to this time.
Germany, Russia, and other World Powers began the dismantling of the Old Kingdom in 1863. Borders were redraw, people's were displaced. Foreign rulers were imposed. This process has continued for the last century and a half. Now only a small, landlocked sliver known as the Republic of Moldova remains free of foreign domination. Moldova is the poorest state of Europe. Moldova's continued statehood hangs by a thread.
Where is the Old Kingdom today? It is where its peoples call home.
